[...One of the oldest criticisms of the Senior British League has been firmly dispelled. Cynics used to say that the standard of play in the lower divisions was no better than in your average local League first division match.
However, with players such as Simon Pugh, Bill Grant, Lewis Siket and Andy Henry taking part in division Four North, the all-conquering Mossford side of Matt Spero, Keith Lesser, Shelley Ruocco and Robin Glassberg winning division Four South and an outstanding Club Cornwall team of Adrian Noott, Jeremy Williams, Graham Worth and Darren Reed finding themselves pushed all the way by Ellenborough II in division Four South & Midlands this myth can now be disregarded.
The only surprises coming in round five was where the highly ranked England no.21 Junior Marc Armstrong lost to both Britannia Ipswich's Mark Lewis and Ian Brown.
Cippenham made no mistakes in beating Britannia Ipswich 7-1, Ian Brown's win over Nick Hansell being the only game that escaped them...]
