How to find us.

The club's address is 193 Defoe Road, but we are probably more easily identified as being in the grounds of Ormiston Endeavour Academy [the former Thurleston High School], which is immediately next door. The area where the club is located is known locally as "Whitton" which in bygone times was a village which now been "swallowed-up" by Ipswich.

From North and West (Diss, Norwich and Bury St Edmunds)
Approach Ipswich via A14 (Eastbound carriageway - heading toward Felixstowe) and follow directions below on 'leaving A14'.

From South (Colchester)
Leave A12 at Copdock-Mill (TESCO'S) interchange and join A14 westbound (toward Bury St Edmund's). Continue along A14 for about 2 miles and follow directions below on 'leaving A14'.

From North (Lowestoft and Woodbridge)
Follow A12 to "Seven-Hills" interchange and join A14 westbound (Toward Bury St Edmunds). Continue along A14 for 6-8 miles and follow directions below on 'leaving A14'.

From East (Felixstowe)
Follow A14 westbound (toward Bury St Edmunds) and follow directions below on 'leaving A14'.

Leaving A14

Leave the A14 at junction marked "White-House Industrial Park". Once off the main road and at the access roundabout, follow the route into Ipswich. You will see the ASDA Superstore on the right and large Retail-Park on the left.

First roundabout - straight across as though heading for Ipswich Central (Park-and-Ride bus lane will appear on your left).

Traffic Lights - (Land-Rover Agency on the right). Turn sharp left into Old Norwich Road (watch out for the bus lane at the traffic lights).

Approximately 400m along Old Norwich Road - (traveling north) take turning on right marked "Whitton Church Lane".

Approximately 250m along Whitton Church Lane - on your left you will see a tall hedge screening the grounds of Whitton Sports and Community Centre. Turn right immediately opposite the Sports Centre entrance into Shakespeare Road.

Approximately 100m along Shakespeare Road turn left into Byron Road.

After 300m - the road will turn sharply right and become Macauley Road (opposite a group of shops and a small amenity/grassed area).

80m along Macauley Road turn left into Defoe Road.

Britannia Table Tennis Club is on the left just beyond the blocks of flats. It is particularly noticeable in that it is a "dome" shaped building standing 10 meters or so from the road.

For those traveling from within the Ipswich area

Use the old bypass to Valley Road/Henley Road Traffic lights and turn toward Henley Village.

Defoe Road is on the left approximately 1 mile from traffic lights.

Turn into Defoe Road. Britannia is on the right just beyond Thurleston School.
